Can you print in 3D the topography you get from google earth?

Like engineers using rapid prototyping technologies to quickly print a 3D designed part (using, say, stereolithography). Would be cool to have a whole region with its mountains in 3D laying on your desk :)

I seriously doubt that GoogleEarth imported prototype programming into its output. It basically uses the same technology as Flash. It’s not really sending a 3d image. It’s sending an extended 2d image which means it’s got several flat layers that move at different speeds as you move across the landscape. But that would be incredible wouldn’t it. First thing I’d print would be the Peak of the Himalayas
